Telephony

SARK runs the Asterisk Open PBX, the most popular and reliable soft switch available today. SARK further enhances Asterisk by automatically generating the dial plan and configuration files via a set of easy-to-use administration panels.

Each SARK UCS/MVP module will give 6 external G.729 or GSM VoIP voice channels from a regular business ADSL circuit or around 12 channels from ADSL2. Additionally, you can specify up to 60 PSTN circuits per module using ISDN30e circuits or up to 32 channels using ISDN2e. The SARK850 entry level unit will run around 15-20 IP or analogue telephones for general office use or around 10 for a high call rate system while the high-end SARK1500 module will comfortably handle up to 150.

The SARK850 is delivered with 4Gb or 8Gb of on-board solid-state storage while the 1000 and 1500 can be delivered either as 8Gb solid state units or with up to 200 Gb of full RAID 1 mirroring (hot swappable in the case of the 1500) if required. Such set-ups are popular in those environments where pre-emptive call recording is a requirement.

For customers who require more users or VoIP channels, it is simply a question of ordering additional modules. Multiple modules can share resources including PSTN and VoIP lines. This allows a high level of control over your call costs and allows for real-time failover between modules in the case of line or carrier failure. If a module cannot place a call over the lines which it owns, it can automatically place the call via another module.
